Marble grinding is a critical process for processing large blocks of stone into fine powder ranging from 80 mesh to 2,500 mesh, and is widely used in industries such as engineered stone, coatings, papermaking, and plastics. Based on the required fineness of the final product and production capacity, the main types of equipment and their performance characteristics are as follows:
I. Main Types of Equipment
1. Raymond Mill: The most traditional and commonly used equipment for coarse powder processing. It operates on the roller-ring grinding principle, features a systematic design, and includes built-in classification.
2. High-Pressure Suspended Roller Mill: An improved version of the Raymond mill with increased grinding force, suitable for fine powder processing of materials with a Mohs hardness of 6 or below.
3. Ultrafine Vertical Mill: A large-scale, modern piece of equipment that integrates crushing, grinding, classification, and conveying into a single unit. It has low energy consumption and is suitable for large-scale production.
4. Ultra-fine Ring Roller Mill: Featuring a multi-layer grinding ring and roller design, this is the mainstream equipment for large-scale production of ultra-fine powders (325–2500 mesh).

II. Comparison of Core Performance Characteristics
Grinding Fineness: Raymond mills and high-pressure suspended roller mills primarily produce fine powders ranging from 80 to 400 mesh; ultra-fine vertical mills and ring roller mills can achieve 600 to 2500 mesh; Air-jet mills specialize in the ultra-fine range of several microns or less.
Production Capacity: Ultra-fine vertical mills and large ring roller mills have the highest capacity, with a single unit capable of producing tens of tons per hour; air-jet mills typically have lower capacity.
Energy Efficiency: Modern ultra-fine vertical mills and ring roller mills utilize the fluidized bed grinding principle, offering relatively high energy efficiency. Traditional Raymond mills rank second, while air-jet mills have the highest energy consumption.
